Checkin' In Saturday

It's been a hectic few weeks and I've missed the blogosphere. I worked a lot, while simultaneously starting to inhabit our new place, hooking up cables and internets, and organizing a fun get-together. Today I'm just enjoying lounging in bed and looking forward to a dinner with my mom at the ever-wonderful Aloha. Shall I get the Luau Pork Plate and Passion-fruit Pie for the millionth time, or...no, no that's probably what I'll get. Yum.

Here are a few snaps from my 28th birthday party :)

And I'm trying to get this t-shirt/skirt tutorial all finished, but like I said before, real life has been an extra time suck lately. So here's a little preview. And of course, it has pockets.

Pink Flowers, Best Friends

On a beautiful Sunday in early September, I spent a lovely afternoon with wonderful company and amazing food. My wonderful, funny, amazing friend Angelina (in the middle) will be off on a jet plane tonight, back to Brooklyn, and into my "missing" mental storage compartment. She'll be back in November though, so Dorey and I can't get too sad! I wore a new pleated skirt I recently traded for at Crossroads, an H+M top, vintage belt, Target shoes, and a random faux-leather jacket when the breeze got too breezy.

Big Sur Splendor

This past weekend I enjoyed a lovely day trip down Highway 1 to Big Sur for a "little" hike and picnic lunch.  If I didn't quite know how unfit I was, being passed by serene elderly people while I gasped my way up slowly. The weather and views turned out to be even more spectacular than anticipated, and days later I'm growing more sore!

I am grateful.

We Used To Wait

I've been missing outfit posting, but then again, I've been wearing repetitive and lackluster variations of cuffed jeans, socks, heavy coats and lace up shoes. Getting a cf card for my long-neglected dslr for Christmas was really great, but not when I re-discovered that its self-timer option only allows for one photo at a time... So I've just been taking practice pictures of Oreo, which tends to be difficult because she isn't a dog that knows or loves cameras, and it bores her. I just ordered a new, unbroken tripod, a lens cover (finally), and a remote, so all my bases should be covered. Now I just need to get on sewing some new clothes and finding new wintry locales to wake up early for!

Christmas Time is Here

I hope you are all having a great weekend wherever you are, I'm currently stuffed with food, sleepy, content, an looking forward to seeing Black Swan on Saturday. By the way, Asian Poppy candles from Cost Plus Market are THE BEST THING EVER! I wish they made perfumes, lotions, body wash... Ahem, apart from that delicious scent, I just ordered some wonderful items with a freshly unwrapped gift card and cannot wait to receive them! But in all honesty, I'm looking forward to iHop and a movie tomorrow just as much! Mmm...

Pre-holidays, I truly enjoyed hanging out with good friends this past week. I don't get to see too often, laughing, playing dice, singing along to 90's pop songs, then going out dancing. Outfit photo will come after the holiday fervor dies down a bit. I haven't don't so much shopping in such a short amount of time! It was really fun though and I loved giving every gift. Never underestimate the power of a Taco Bell burrito at 1:45 a.m.

Also, I'm venturing into territory I never thought I'd enter. Twitter territory. I'm still confused on how it even really works, but I guess I'll catch on. If you want to follow me this way, I'm now also known as the
twit outofmeghan.Or leave your twitter name in a comment for me to check out!

With that, I wish you a wonderful weekend!!
