Carmel-by-the-sea Day 1

I've been looking forward to this weekend so much! Friday morning my Oreo, my mom and I headed down the coast for a much-needed weekend in Carmel to celebrate my mom's birthday. On the way, we stopped at Phil's Fish Market in Moss Landing. If you're ever in the Monterey Bay area and love seafood, definitely visit this place in the marina! We walked around back with the pup and chowed down on some picnic benches: sanddab sandwich, seafood quesadilla, and artichokes, mmm! There's tons of cute little antique shops and fisherman shacks around, too.

I love the white horse on the second floor balcony. We continued on south down the coast, past the artichoke fields, Elkhorn Slough, the smokestacks... I matched my outfit to my dog, haha just kidding. Kinda. I wore a random striped skirt, Target wedges, a horsey shirt from Crossroads, and my trusty sale UO cardigan. We checked into our lovely little cottage at the Edgemere, then took a walk through the winding lanes to look at the lovely homes and check out the beach. Though it's less than an hour away from my (foggy) home in Santa Cruz, the sun was out and the water down here is so much more translucent and such a lovely tropical blue!

We concluded our first day in Carmel with a glass of wine and Edward Scissorhands by the fireplace in our adorable little pet-friendly cottage ♥
