The Sweetest Thing

Friday the 19th marked the date when the blessedly adorable, funny, sweet, good-tempered, loving, trusting, silly, feisty Oreo entered my life two years ago. She was the only pup in the place not barking; sitting forlornly on a torn blanket, her soulful chocolate eyes called out to me louder than anything else. Since that day she's been nothing but love. To celebrate, we went to a lovely local restaurant called Bittersweet Bistro for dinner. They have a beautiful, dog-friendly outdoor patio where guests can enjoy delicious cuisine and drinks with their canine family members. The friendly staff set out water and a biscuit for your pup, and Oreo loved the fancy wet food we ordered from the doggie menu for her. Don't worry, I didn't take a photo of Oreo's dinner, but of course I must include some food porn, below. The most adorable little Pomeranian pranced in with his owner, and then a big, gentle white shaggy creature that stood head and shoulders above his table. Little kids watched the koi fish swim in the fountain, roses and vines climbed the walls while potted marigolds added color, and I overdosed on macadamia-crusted tilapia with mixed rice, veggies and a mango sauce, yum!

I wore a dress from Ross, a necklace from Cost Plus, Target shoes, and the awesome new Leroy & Perry sweater I recently scored from a Gilt Groupe sale. It was my first Gilt-y purchase (tee hee); well, not too guilty at $29! I've cut back drastically on shopping, but when I do, it's only from the flea market, thrift or consignment stores. I definitely can't afford to shop luxury brands, but I do enjoy quality materials and the occasional investment piece. I love love love love somewhat structured cardigan/jackets make from sweatshirt knits. This ones cool oversize fit with slim sleeves (so I don't look too much like a frumpy child) and sturdy construction make it a closet keeper.
{ P.S. If you need an invitation to Gilt, send me an email! }

 P.P.S. Congratulations Monette! I'll email you the store credit to my shop soon.
Thank you to everyone who entered and told me about your dream vintage find; I'll be on the lookout :)

Happy Weekend, you lovely ladies the world over <3
