Well, here's a mediocre picture of the skirt I made last night! Kind of influenced by Louis Vuitton's lady-like fall collection and made of oh-sew-easy t-shirt knit jersey, I must say the photo doesn't quite do it justice. It has a vintage-y shape and a super-comfortable feel. Can we spell new favorite skirt model?? I wanted to make another tonight, but whoa, it's already almost eleven! I need a lot of sleep or else I start to ninja chop and throw things, and besides, my cheap old clunker of a machine is too loud for late-night apartment sewing.
I'm too cold for less than three layers, but I can't help imagining how lovely this skirt will be in summer with bare legs and sandals. Doing pleats instead of a plain old mushy gathering at the waist really kicked this up a notch. Since there's no shoes shown, please imagine black scallop-edged round toe pumps ;)

ReplyDeleteI love the shape of your skirt- did you just add pleats? I get fixated on patterns too, I make a skirt I like and remake it ad infinitum with every color I can get my hands on until the next great thing comes along!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful blog you have here! I just love this skirt so much!
