Fashion Therapy - Spring Neutrality

For many, many years I've counted on black, grey and white to see me through. I still love black, but thanks to this blog and seeing all the wondrous outfits on other girls in communities like chictopia and weardrobe, I've really opened up to colors and pastels and become more confident wearing what I want in a sea of black jeans and black hoodies. Right now I am so in love with nude and pale grey. I recently found those perfect patent nude pumps that I'd been hoping for, and I have to keep myself from wearing them every single day.

top - charlotte russe, 4 mo. | skirt - self made, 5 mo. | belt - thrifted | shoes - steve madden, new

The feel of wearing a full skirt, sheer shirt and bare legs in the sunshine is so delightful! The dandelion print of this skirt still makes me so happy whenever I wear it. Dandelions hold a special place in my heart, and finding this fabric was serendipitous. When I think of neutrals, I think of Switzerland (dork alert) and this sheer top does have something like Swiss Dot on it! Woo hoo!

♥ Thank you gals for your comments on this blog, it really means a lot to me to read them. I entered this outfit into Weardrobe's Neutrals contest. If you are a member and like this outfit, I would LOVE if you could give me a vote! I'll link to it here.

  2. I love the pastel colors, and you wear them so well! That print of the skirt is adorable, and I can't believe you made it! Beautiful! I love the top as well, I thought it was thrifted - can't believe it was Carlotte Russe!
